Travistene Carruth
October 2, 1943 - November 16, 2020
Scripture: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be no more pain; for the former things are passes away. Rev 21:4 (KJV) Travistene Davis Carruth was born October 2, 1943, in Turner, Arkansas to the late Otto and Emma Lou Davis. Travistene accepted Christ at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist under the leadership of the late Reverend Calvin Jackson. On Monday, November 16, 2020, God saw the load was getting heavy; the hills were harder to climb, he gently whispered “Peace Be Thine”, and life curtains closed for Travistene at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She left a void in our lives that will never be filled. Travistene is preceded in death by her parents, one son Kenneth Wayne Davis, two sisters Clara Smith, Myrtle Nesby, and six brothers Rudolph, Winfred, Joe, Wallace, Charlie, and Willie Lewis Davis. Fond and precious memories are left with her loving companion Otis Jarrett of Marvell, AR her loving and devoted children Sherry Robinson of Little Rock, AR; Steven (Bonnie) Carruth of Jonesboro, AR; Darius (Katie) of Dallas, TX; Carlos (Quana) Carruth of Forney, TX; Quatros Carruth and Chemier (Scott) Smith of West Helena, AR; Otis (Karen) Jarrett, Jr of Thomasville, GA; and Derrick Jarrett of Sioux, Iowa; one brother Larry Davis of Poplar Grove, AR; Nineteen grandchildren, Fifteen great-grandchildren. Cherished memories will be left with four sisters-in-law; Bobbie Jean Davis, Melglory Davis, Gloria Davis, and Marion Davis. Travistene also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly. The health and safety of the Carruth family are important. We ask that masks are worn during visitation and her funeral services.
